Page 1: Prerequisites and Intention (Niyyah)
Before standing in front of Allah for prayer, a Muslim must ensure that all physical and spiritual requirements are fulfilled.
1. Cleanliness (Wudu)
Perform the ritual ablution (Wudu) ensuring your body, clothes, and the place of prayer are completely clean.
2. Facing the Qiblah
Stand straight facing the direction of the Kaaba in Makkah (Qiblah).
3. Make the Intention (Niyyah)
Make a silent intention in your heart for the specific prayer you are about to perform (e.g., 2 Rak'ah of Fajr, 4 Rak'ah of Zuhr).
Page 2: Opening Takbeer & Qiyam
This page guides you through the initial steps of standing in worship.
1. Takbeer-e-Tahreemah
Raise your hands to your ears (for men) or shoulders (for women) and say:
"Allah is the Greatest."
2. Al-Qiyam (Standing & Sana)
Fold your hands over your chest/navel and quietly recite the opening supplication (Sana):
"Glory be to You, O Allah, and all praise is Yours. Blessed is Your name and exalted is Your majesty. There is no deity worthy of worship besides You."
3. Reciting Surah Al-Fatiha
Recite Surah Al-Fatiha, followed by any other short passage or Surah from the Holy Quran.
Page 3: Ruku (Bowing Position)
Moving from the standing position to showing humility before the Creator by bowing down.
1. Going into Ruku
Say "Allahu Akbar" and bow down, placing your hands firmly on your knees, keeping your back straight.
2. Adhkar of Ruku
While in the bowing position, recite the following phrase at least 3 times:
"Glory be to my Lord, the Magnificent."
3. Rising from Ruku (Qaumah)
Stand up straight again while saying:
"Allah hears whoever praises Him."
Once fully upright, say:
"Our Lord, and to You belongs all praise."
Page 4: Sujud (Prostration)
The closest a believer gets to Allah is during the prostration.
1. The First Sujud
Say "Allahu Akbar" and go down to the floor. Your knees, palms, forehead, and nose must touch the ground.
Recite the following at least 3 times:
"Glory be to my Lord, the Most High."
2. Jalsah (Sitting Between Sujud)
Say "Allahu Akbar" and sit up straight on your left foot for a brief moment.
3. The Second Sujud
Say "Allahu Akbar" again and repeat the second prostration exactly like the first one, reciting the praises 3 times.
Page 5: Tashahhud & Tasleem
The final phase to complete the Rak'ah units and conclude the prayer beautifully.
1. Tashahhud (Attahiyyaat)
Sit down peacefully after the final prostration and recite:
"All compliments, prayers, and pure words are due to Allah. Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous slaves of Allah. I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger."
2. Durood Ibrahim
Next, send blessings upon Prophet Muhammad (PBUH):
"O Allah, send prayers upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent prayers upon Ibrahim and upon the family of Ibrahim; You are indeed Praiseworthy, Most Glorious."
3. Ending with Tasleem (Salam)
Turn your head to the right shoulder and say:
Then turn your head to the left shoulder and repeat the same. Your prayer is now complete.
